Wai Lana - Deep Peace Meditation
Length: 4:52
(2nd clip 4:47)

This a simpler version of the Deep Peace Meditation. Generally the instructor will take their time telling students to relax each part of the body starting with your toes. Another name for this type of meditation is yoga nidra (Deep Sleep) which Wai Lana claims is deep relaxation. (We don't as yet have a copy of Wai Lana's Yoga Nidra.)

Science of Identity meditation teachers will suggest that half an hour of "Deep Peace" session will feel like the equivalent of several hours sleep. This is because your body and mind is forcibly experiencing the same state that takes hours of slumber to achieve. Basically, it's a potent form of hypnosis.

The purpose for Yoga Nidra is to put one's body and subconscious mind to sleep in order to achieve a deep, yet half-conscious, dream state. Closing your eyes and putting your body to sleep, with the repetitious chanting and soft mystical music, makes you completely unaware of your surroundings.

Once fully immersed, if you don't actually fall asleep, you become more suggestible and susceptible to indoctrination. Chris Butler's "Psychic Sleep" in the 60s utilized this same techique as he was able to recruit followers easily.

Science of Identity also uses the names "Rest and Relax", "Gauranga Breath" or "Gauranga Breathing" meditation, which are similar forms of the same technique.

The following video comes directly after the video above and includes Siddha reciting his version of Lord Chaitanya's prayer which explains how a person should chant the names of God (i.e. the Yoga Sound).
